The Pattonville School District recently honored two area businesses as its 2009 School-Business Partners of the Year during its annual District Appreciation Night.

Patty Gould, Pattonville director of school-business partnerships, presented the partnership awards to David and Suzanne Greer of David’s Dairy Queen of Maryland Heights and Dr. Mark and Kathy Baker of Baker Chiropractic and Acupuncture in Bridgeton.
For the past five years, David and Suzanne Greer have been active in Pattonville’s academic and attendance program, which recognizes students for their attendance and academic achievements. The Greers give generously to the many requests received throughout the year for Pattonville events, such as reading programs, Family Nights, PTA events, and sponsorships of athletic events. Through Family Nights, the Greers give back a percentage of the sales to Pattonville schools and clubs. They even provide extras such as characters and clowns to attend the Family Nights and entertain the children.
For many years Mark and Kathy Baker have been involved with Pattonville. They have given their time, efforts and interest in a variety of ways: Mark Baker has served as president and vice president of Pattonville’s Football Booster Club. Two years ago, Mark Baker initiated the formation of the Pattonville Athletic and Activities Foundation that is now very active in the support of Pattonville athletics and activities. Kathy Baker has also been heavily involved with the schools their children attend including serving with the parent organizations at Drummond Elementary, Holman Middle School and Pattonville High School. She is a past officer and room mother. She recruits and trains volunteers to support school activities.
