| Pattonville trains tutors in OASIS program |

Pattonville recently completed another year of OASIS training for the start of the district’s 19th year in the intergenerational tutoring program. The OASIS tutoring program trains volunteer senior adults to work one-on-one with children in the elementary schools. The focus is on language, reading and writing skills.

This year Pattonville trained 16 tutors for the district as well as for other area districts and schools, including Holy Spirit locally. Pattonville teachers, reading specialists and retired volunteers assisted in the training. New tutors who completed the two-day training and will be volunteering in Pattonville are Sid Axelbaum, Ruth Anne Bodus, Harriet Gibbons, Betty Heberer, Suzanne Muther, Vivian Ransburg, Kari Stadstad and Pat Seem.
