Three Pattonville teachers attain National Certification

Three teachers from Pattonville School District are among a select group of educators nationwide who earned the highest professional credential in the field of teaching this year - National Board Certification. The certification is awarded by the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS).

Ben Schamber, a social studies teacher at Pattonville High School, Kelli Risse, a first grade teacher at Remington Traditional School and Julie Linck, a kindergarten teacher at Remington Traditional School, recently learned they had earned this national recognition.

Fourteen teachers have earned National Board Certification while at Pattonville.  National Board Certification is a growing trend as schools are looking for ways to improve teaching and learning. Many districts, including Pattonville, provide incentives and workshops to assist teachers desiring to earn this distinction. The process involves a rigorous performance-based assessment and takes about a year to attain.
