Pattonville remains prepared for winter weather
Tuesday, January 5, 2010
With freezing temperatures and forecasts of winter weather in the mix, Pattonville remains prepared to make decisions on school attendance based on what is best for students. Classes in Pattonville are only canceled in case of emergency or extremely bad weather. The district takes into consideration the following when making decisions about whether or not to cancel school:

  • Safety of all students being transported;
  • Weather forecast, temperature and wind chill factor;
  • Availability of bus drivers; and
  • Ability to maintain reasonable bus route schedules.
Decisions to close schools will be announced via the following methods:

  • The district Web site
  • Automated phone call to parents and staff members
  • Radio station (KMOX)
  • Television stations (KTVI-Channel 2, KPLR-Channel 11, KMOV-Channel 4 and KSDK-Channel 5)
  • Pattonville's snow line - dial (314) 213-8900 then press SNOW (7669) to hear an automated voice message
Announcements typically occur by 6:30 a.m. Because Pattonville uses its automated phone calling system for school closings and other important information, it's important for parents/guardians to provide their school office with their most current phone numbers (home, work or cell phone).  Pattonville will use the contact information it has on file in its student information system when communicating with parents.
