Students, staff members and parents can honor Pattonville School District staff members who have made a difference through the Teacher of the Year and Support Employee of the Year recognition programs.

Nomination forms are available in all school offices and the community relations office at the Pattonville Learning Center, 11097 St. Charles Rock Road in St. Ann. Nomination forms are also available on the Pattonville Web site at www.psdr3.org/nominate. The deadline for submitting nominations for both honors is Friday, February 12.
For the Teacher of the Year award, nominees are selected by a committee of parents and staff members and a board of education member based on the nomination forms and written materials provided by the candidate in the categories of personal history and teaching philosophy. Finalists also participate in oral interviews. The employee chosen for the district award is nominated for Missouri Teacher of the Year.
For the first time, counselors, librarians and instructional specialists are eligible to be nominated for Teacher of the Year, as the Missouri Teacher of the Year program changed its guidelines to include these certified staff members.
The Support Staff Employee of the Year may be any non-supervisory support staff employee. Finalists are selected based on the nomination forms and written materials submitted by the candidates. Nominees are considered based on commitment, human relations skills, loyalty, dedication and organizational/work skills related to the overall positive educational climate of Pattonville.
Each staff member is notified of the nomination in April. The winners will be announced during District Appreciation Night on May 3.
