Behnken will serve as mission specialist on mission STS-130 as NASA crews deliver a third connecting module - the Tranquility node - along with a seven-windowed cupola to be used as a control room for robotics. He will perform three space walks during the 13-day mission.

Behnken made his first journey into space in March 2008 aboard Endeavor on mission STS-123. While on this mission to the International Space Station, Behnken performed three space walks, served as the internal spacewalk coordinator, and operated both the space station robotic arm and the Dextre robot.
